USTFCCCA Mideast Region Rankings
HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's cross country team moved up one spot in the latest regional rankings and sits just one spot outside of the national top 35 in the latest set of polls released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Fords once again received 13 voting points in the national poll during the first regular season release.
The Fords will seek their first outside competition of the young season this Friday during the Main Line Invitational. Haverford's season opened in earnest last weekend with the running of the annual Alumnae Open during which sophomore Hannah Doll was the team's top finisher in a time of 18:37 over the three mile course. Haverford's top five runners had a spread of less than one minute in that initial race.
Haverford rose up to No. 4 in the region this past week, switching spots with Elizabethtown in the Mideast rankings. Elizabethtown is also listed among the teams receiving votes in the national poll. Around the rest of the region, Johns Hopkins maintained its spot as the top-ranked team across Division III. Dickinson (17th) and Carnegie Mellon (22nd) are up one and two spots, respectively, in the first poll of the regular season.
Women's cross country will dive into competition this Friday, September 14 with the Main Line Invitational. The women's race will be up first with a 4:45 p.m. start with the men to follow at 5:30 p.m.
