LANSING, Mich. -  The Haverford College women's cross country team was represented by sophomore Katie Hirsche at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday morning, as Hirsche finished the 6K course in 23:50.7, good for 155th place overall.

Competing in snowy, cold conditions on the campus of Michigan State University and the Forest Akers Golf Course, Hirsche represented well as the second finisher from the Metro Region, behind just Jaquelynn Sheedy of USMMA, who crossed 137th. She was also the seventh finisher from the Centennial Conference, behind six runners from national champions Johns Hopkins, but ahead of Rachel Conhoff of Ursinus and both Swarthmore entrants.

Conference foe Johns Hopkins was named the team champion, finishing with a low of 144 points, edging out Chicago, who finished with 147 while Wartburg notched a third-place showing with 178 total points. For the second straight season, Kassie Parker of Loras won the individual championship, gapping the field in 21:06.5, a win of 43 seconds.

The national meet, the Washington, D.C. product's first appearance at the national championships, brings the women's cross country season to a close as the Fords will now turn their attention to the indoor track & field campaign, with action beginning in early December.

Hirsche previously earned All-Region honors as she finished fifth at the NCAA Metro Region meet last weekend, and earned first-team All-Centennial Conference designation by virtue of her seventh place finish at the Conference meet in late October.
