BALTIMORE, Md. – The Haverford College women's squash team split a Nov. 20 doubleheader, beating Johns Hopkins University 6-3 and then falling to George Washington University 9-0.
The Fords improve to 2-5 on the season.
In the morning victory over Hopkins, the Fords showed their overall strength from the top down, as No. 1 Caroline Nightingale came back to win in her fifth game 11-9. No. 3 Alex Love also battled to five games, but was defeated in a 13-11 tie-break.
The second half of the line-up, numbers five through nine showed their strength as they all won in three straight sets.
"The women are becoming a cohesive unit and are building confidence with each match," said head coach Niki Clement.
The Fords play their final contest of 2011 on Dec. 3 at home vs. Yale, at 3 p.m.
