Women's Squash Falls to Denison in Liberty League Third Place Match

CANTON, N.Y. - The fourth-seeded Haverford Women's Squash team (4-12) were defeated in the Liberty League Championships Third Place Match against third-seeded Denison (7-10), concluding the weekend stint with a 9-0 loss at the Robie Squash Center on the campus of St. Lawrence University.

A notable moment for the Fords occurred at the seventh flight, where Amy Saxon secured a game victory over Hannah Best. Saxon managed to take the third game from her opponent, avoiding a sweep before ultimately falling in four games.

In other matchups, Ariana Solecki posed a significant challenge to Antonette Ramsey at the top flight. Solecki took Ramsey to extra points in a 14-12 loss, with Ramsey prevailing 11-8, 14-12, 11-6. Sarah Kotapka also extended Chloe Sigg to extra points in a first-game loss at the eighth flight (12-10, 11-2, 11-1). Catherine Fortin, Emi Krishnamurthy, and Nayera Hasan all reached nine points in their respective games before being narrowly edged.

Looking ahead, Haverford will now have the opportunity to compete for a divisional championship closer to home. The 2024 CSA Divisional Team Championships are scheduled for February 16 through February 18 at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia's University City district.
