PHILADELPHIA - The 29th-ranked Haverford College women's squash team (6-13) concluded the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships with a decisive victory over No. 31 Vassar (9-13), prevailing 9-0 in the Walker Cup consolation bracket final at the Specter Center in University City.

In the entire college squash landscape, perhaps no team is more familiar to the Haverford program than Liberty League foe Vassar. The Fords faced the Brewers for the third time this season on Saturday. Surprisingly, the two sides did not meet at last weekend's Liberty League Championships, but the matchup in Philadelphia proved to be a compelling rubber match as each side secured a win during the regular season.

After the Fords picked up default wins at the eighth and ninth flights, Amy Saxon delivered a sweep of Mea Vesci at the seventh flight for Haverford's first match win of the afternoon. Saxon prevailed 11-4, 11-2, 11-2, allowing just six total points to her Brewers opponent and setting the tone for things to come.

Matilda Chartener achieved a clean sweep at the sixth flight, dispatching Kelsey O'Connell in straight games (11-7, 11-9, 11-4), and Catherine Fortin clinched the win for the Fords with a sweep of Adriana Ordaya at the second flight (11-7, 11-4, 11-5).

Emi Krishnamurthy roared past Sehar Dey-Kohli at the third flight (11-4, 11-6, 11-7), and Maya Johnson-Fraidin overcame Sophia Choudhri at the fifth flight, finishing things off in four games after dropping the third. Johnson-Fraidin delivered 11-7 and 11-8 wins to start play.

Vassar challenged Haverford at the first and fourth flights, with Ariana Solecki staying poised at number one, weathering a first-game loss to Anna Lee, rallying back for 11-3, 11-5, and 11-7 wins in succession for the penultimate Haverford tally.

The ninth win of the afternoon came at the fourth flight, with Zoe Liu getting to the brink of a sweep with quick 11-5 and 11-8 victories. Liu ultimately fell in a tightly contested third game (8-11), but finished things off with a commanding performance in the fourth game, dispatching Sarah Boucher-Rowe 11-2.

With the 2023-24 team season now concluded, Haverford looks forward to sending select entrants to the CSA Individual Championships and U.S. Squash Collegiate Doubles tournaments, slated for March 8-10 at the Specter Center in Philadelphia. More information on those competitions will be announced in the coming weeks.
