Women's squash falls to #13 Drexel

PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College women's squash team came up short in its bid for its third straight victory as the Fords fell 9-0 to host Drexel University on Thursday night at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.

Haverford (4-8) challenged the 13th-ranked Dragons (10-7) at every spot on the ladder but the hosts were able to register their fifth consecutive win.

Sophomore Emily Berlin, at No. 8, shook off an 11-5 loss in game one and pushed Alexandra Dodson into extra points in game two. Dodson hung on for a 15-13 win before closing out the match with an 11-5 victory in game three.

Playing at No. 2, Alex Love grew stronger as her match moved on against Elisa Money but Money claimed the 11-1, 11-4, 11-6 win.

Rachael Garnick, at No. 9, and Caroline Nightingale, at No. 1, also played well in the loss.

The Fords return to action on Saturday as they host a tri-match at the Gardner Integrated Athletic Center squash courts. The action begins with Haverford taking on 30th-ranked Boston College at 10:30 a.m. while the final match of the day will pit the Fords against No. 43 Bucknell University.
