Season Review: Women's Squash Sets Program Record in Banner Season

Signature Wins: The No. 32 Haverford College women's squash team defeated the No. 35 Bucknell Bison 7-2 on Feb. 7 to pick up its 10th win of the year. With the victory, the Fords set a new program record for wins in a season.

Season Notes: The Fords made the jump to the Epps Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships for the first time since the 2011-12 season ... The team had a four-match winning streak (Nov. 15-22) including two sweeps ... Head coach Niki Clement's squad ended the regular season with four wins in its last five matches ... The Fords won three of their last four home contests... Senior Alex Love, junior Bethany Simmonds and freshman Isabelle Gotuaco participated at the CSA Individual Championships with Gotuaco picking up a victory ... Senior Samara Flug and junior Emily Berlin were named to the CSA Scholar Athlete list ... Love and Simmonds led the team with 12 victories, finishing two shy of the single-season record ... The team had three players with at least 10 wins and three others with nine victories ... Flug was named the Harrow Sports College Squash Player of the Week (Nov. 19) ... She graduated with 24 career victories which ranks third all-time ... Flug's .615 winning percentage is fifth best in program history ... Love finished with 21 career victories, good for seventh all-time ... Simmonds has 20 career wins which is eighth in program history ... Her .526 winning percentage is 10th all-time.

Looking Ahead: Simmonds returns for her senior campaign after tying the team lead with 12 wins, 10 of which came at the No. 2 position. Gotuaco will also be back after posting an 8-9 record at the No. 1 ladder position. Sophomore Isabel Agnew nabbed 10 wins while freshman Grace Fioramonti-Gorchow had a winning record (7-6).
