Women's Squash Sees Program Record Four Named CSA Scholar Athletes

Full CSA Scholar Athletes Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's squash team saw a program-record four student-athletes named 2018-19 CSA Scholar Athletes, the College Squash Association (CSA) announced in a release on Thursday afternoon. Junior co-captains Kaitlin Reese and Sunny Chai, junior Sophia Jackson, and senior Stephanie Lukez were all honorees.

CSA Scholar Athlete Award (varsity team players) and Academic Recognition Award (club team players) is granted to juniors or seniors who have played on their team throughout their college career, participated in the majority of the team's matches in the top-10 of the lineup during the season, and have achieved a high academic standing at their institution. CSA Scholar Athletes represent the values of the association, specifically including student-athletes achieving a high level of play on court while excelling in the classroom.

Reese was Haverford's number one player in 2018-19, finishing her junior campaign with an 11-9 record. The Charlottesville, Va. product will enter her senior campaign just six wins away from tying the Haverford career record for victories, as she currently sits in sixth place all-time with 32 wins. Chai competed at the fourth, fifth, and sixth flights for the Fords, compiling an 11-5 record this season. Chai went a perfect 4-0 at the fifth flight and 7-3 at the sixth position. Jackson compiled a 5-5 record at the fifth through seventh flights after spending the fall semester abroad. Lukez went 5-1 in her final collegiate season, including an unblemished 3-0 mark at the ninth flight.

The Fords finished the 2018-19 season with their most victories in a single season since the 2014-15 campaign, and will take the No. 28 overall ranking into the offseason, the best year-end ranking for the women's squad since the 2005-06 season.
