PHILADELPHIA – Haverford College women's squash junior co-captain Kaitlin Reese has been named to the 2018-19 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, the Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) announced in a release on Tuesday morning.

The Inquirer's at-large teams take into account those student-athletes from area schools whose sports do not have a dedicated Academic All-Area team. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better.

Reese joined fencers Katie Bradley and Anna Neuheardt on the women's at-large team to give Haverford three student-athletes honored. That total tied with Temple's three selections for the highest representation of any College or University in the Philadelphia area.

Reese was Haverford's number one player in 2018-19, finishing her junior campaign with a 10-5 record at the top of the ladder. The Charlottesville, Va. product will enter her senior campaign just six wins away from tying the Haverford career record for victories, as she currently sits in sixth place all-time with 32 wins.  Reese also represented Haverford at the CSA Individual Championships for the third consecutive season. An environmental studies major, Reese is also a member of Haverford's Committee on Environmental Responsibility and was named a CSA Scholar Athlete.

The Haverford women's squash team finished the 2019 season with the most victories in a single season since the 2014-15 campaign, and the No. 28 overall year-end ranking was also the best final ranking for the program since the 2005-06 season.
