Why did you choose Haverford?
After talking to my cousin Yash Singh '19 (former men's squash player) and learning about the campus' environment, where students share the passion of motivating each other to grow both on and off-court, I knew that Haverford was different from other schools. The Tri-Co Consortium is what really attracted me to Haverford. Being a multi-disciplinary art and design student, I was drawn to not only the Fine Arts program at Haverford, but also the Growth and Structure of Cities at Bryn Mawr College. This combination gave me an opportunity to grow both as an artist and an architect, along with the prospect of continuing playing squash!

What is your favorite team experience?
There are so many memorable experiences I have both on and off-court, my favorite ones are during pre-season every year. It is the time when I get to see my teammates again after winter break and finally bond with the first-years more formally. During this time, everyone is supporting and encouraging each other to make sure we're fully prepared for the upcoming season!

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
Before applying to college, I always thought squash was a purely individual sport. However, once I found out Haverford had a women's squash team I was excited to potentially be a part of a team environment where I could grow with other people. Being a part of a team where everyone has immense love and dedication to the sport, academics, and each other is so inspiring.

What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
Being a student-athlete is all about being inclusive of each other and finding a balance between athletics and academics. I definitely feel that this experience has taught me how to manage my time productively, and motivates me every day to push myself to be a better student and teammate.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would definitely recommend visiting! Being an international student, I found it was especially useful to meet the coaches and faculty to truly capture the experience of Haverford.
