Women's Squash Falls to No. 10 Amherst to Conclude Pioneer Valley Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. - The Haverford College women's squash team (2-6) concluded the Pioneer Valley Invitational on Sunday, taking on the host Mammoths of No. 10 Amherst (7-1) to close out the weekend of action in Massachusetts. Amherst came away with the 9-0 victory at the Davenport Squash Courts.

A standout performance for the Fords came from Shreya Singh, who took her opponent Margaret Pearson to extra points in game one at the fifth flight. Catherine Fortin also notched seven points in the second game at the fourth spot on the ladder. 

Haverford will now face off with No. 38 Chatham on Friday night (7 p.m.). The contest against the Pittsburgh-area squad will be hosted in Lancaster, Pa. on the campus of Franklin & Marshall. The Fords will be facing the upstart Cougars for the first time in program history.
