HAVERFORD, Pa. - With fans back in attendance at the GIAC Squash Courts, the No. 28 Haverford Women's Squash (4-7) team made the most of its opportunity to wow the home spectators with a commanding 9-0 victory over visiting No. 36 Bucknell (0-2) on Saturday.

The Fords stifled any attempt that the Bison had to gain footing on a chilly afternoon. With a 2-0 lead already secured at the gatehouse due to defaults at No. 8 and No. 9, the Fords looked loose and in control with Ariana Solecki making quick work of Allison Rho at the second flight, allowing just seven total points in a decisive sweep. Shreya Singh also looked poised in that first round of matches, allowing just four points to Anaelle Perroux at the fifth flight.

Zahra Khan and Maeve Snover locked horns at the top flight, with Khan coming away with the victory allowing just 11 total points to her opponent. Izzy Johnson allowed just three total points to Catie Sharp at the third, while Caroline Smith allowed just six to Ingrid Hoopes at the sixth.

Emi Krishnamurthy got the best of Caroline Corcoran, allowing 10 total points at the seventh flight. With the team decision well in hand, Catherine Fortin secured the clean sweep allowing just six total points to Sydney Duncan at the fourth flight, putting a bow on a fantastic afternoon for the squad.

Saturday represented Haverford's seventh consecutive victory over Bucknell, as the program now moves to 9-3 all time against the Bison. This was Haverford's first 9-0 sweep of Bucknell since 2018 and the first 9-0 blanking of the 2021-22 season overall.

Haverford now returns to action on Saturday, February 12 taking on No. 22 Dickinson (10:30 a.m.) and No. 16 Franklin & Marshall (3:30 p.m.) as the Centennial Conference Round Robin comes to the GIAC Squash Courts for the first time in the history of the event. Haverford will honor seniors Izzy Johnson and Shreya Singh prior to first serve with the Red Devils.
