Epps Cup Draws and Bracket

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 28 Haverford College women's squash team (6-8) will open up the 2023 College Squash Association Women's Team Championships on Friday Night at the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Squash Center in Philadelphia.

The quest for the Epps Cup title will run through the courts at Penn this weekend (February 17-19). The Fords face off with Mount Holyoke at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening on courts 2, 5, and 6 at Penn. Haverford earned a 5-4 victory over the Lyons earlier this season, in a January 13 matchup at Wesleyan.

Haverford is ranked as the No. 28 team in the nation entering the postseason, and the No. 27 varsity squad. Haverford is slated to compete in the Epps Cup, the CSA's "D Division". The Epps Cup grouping features the teams ranked from 25th to 31st in the penultimate national varsity rankings. St. Lawrence, the No. 25 varsity squad, receives a first round bye while Bates, Haverford, Hamilton, Connecticut College, Mount Holyoke, and Vassar all will contest quarterfinals on Friday evening. Action continues on Saturday and Sunday, with exact placement, times and bracketing dependent on Friday's results.

The previous matchup with Mount Holyoke was Haverford's second consecutive 5-4 win and the only 5-4 match that Mount Holyoke played all season. Catherine Fortin, Caroline Smith, Amelia Stevens, Lyvia Yan, and Aman Hamdard all tallied wins for the Fords in that back-and-forth battle at a neutral site. Haverford also has victories this season over Connecticut College and Vassar, but has not faced off with Bates or Hamilton during the 2022-23 campaign.

Fans of the event should visit the Tournament Homepage for important information, including the draws with live scoring, links to the live streams, and the order of play during the weekend. The live stream links will be active beginning on Friday morning. Live results from all of the action, along with live video streaming of all 12 courts at Penn and select courts at the satellite site of Drexel, are available from the CSA Team Championships page.
