CANTON, N.Y. - The Haverford College men's and women's squash teams are gearing up for their first Liberty League Championships stint at the Robie Squash Center on the campus of St. Lawrence University. The action is set to commence on Saturday, February 10, and will continue through Sunday, February 11.

NEED TO KNOW
Haverford will join Mount Holyoke College, Bard College, Denison University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the University of Rochester, St. Lawrence University, and Vassar College in the two-day event to determine the Liberty League champion.

NEW TEAMS, NEW FORMAT
The addition of Haverford (men and women) and Mount Holyoke (women) has expanded the Liberty League championships to seven teams, now featuring a seeded tournament bracket. The top seed in each bracket will receive a bye. Quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be held on Saturday, followed by the championship round matches on Sunday. All tournament matches will be played using a three-court system.

The 2024 Liberty League Squash Championships will be live-streamed on the St. Lawrence Saints YouTube page, covering all nine traditional courts and the glass show court. Live scoring will also be available through ClubLocker links on the HaverfordAthletics.com schedule pages and social media channels (hav.to/coverage).

ABOUT THE HAVERFORD WOMEN
The Haverford women's team, ranked No. 29, enters with a 3-10 overall record, boasting a 2-2 mark against Liberty League opponents. Notable wins include triumphs over Mount Holyoke and Vassar in the regular season. Junior Ariana Solecki, returning from a semester abroad, has compiled a 3-4 mark at the top flight since action resumed in January. Lily Matthews and Amy Saxon tie for the squad lead with five wins each.

ABOUT THE HAVERFORD MEN
The No. 31-ranked Haverford men's team makes its Liberty League championships debut following a 4-9 regular season. The Fords hold a 2-1 record against Liberty League competition, securing two victories against Vassar.   Noah Tunis has held the No. 1 flight position for the Fords this season. First-years Francis Betkowski (6-4) and Arvin Krishnan (5-5) are the top individual players for Haverford in terms of match wins, primarily appearing in the sixth through eighth spots on the ladder.

UP NEXT
Following this weekend's action in Canton, Haverford will have the opportunity to compete for a divisional championship closer to home. The 2024 CSA Divisional Team Championships are scheduled for February 16 through February 18 at the Arlen Specter USA Squash Center in Philadelphia's University City district. More information about the event, including bracketing and live streaming details, is expected to be announced early next week following the conclusion of conference tournament action.
