The Haverford College cricket team dropped a closely contested game vs. the British Officers’ Cricket Club (BOCC) by a score of 150-135 on Saturday afternoon at Cope Field.
The Haverford College Cricket team took two tough losses this weekend in falling to the Philadelphia Cricket Club (PCC), 161-85, and Amwell Valley Cricket Club, 59-58.
Daniel “Danny” Rothschild '15 enjoyed his study abroad experience in Berlin, Germany, last year so much that he had to find a way back. Now, he has. Rothschild has earned a 2015-16 U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grant (ETA) and will spend a year in Germany.
Division III Week is Monday, April 6 through Sunday, April 12 and the Haverford SAAC has a week full of events to promote Division III Athletics at Haverford College.
The Fords held Amwell Valley's tough batting lineup to 109 runs on a small pitch and did so with their sharpest bowling and fielding of the season. Haverford had excellent bowling from freshman Raghav Bali, junior Ty Joplin, sophomore David White, and junior Daniel Waranch.
The Haverford College cricket team fell to Philadelphia Cricket Club 91 to 90, with each team losing 9 wickets in Sunday's match on Philadelphia's grounds.
Haverford's 97 runs (all out, 23.5 overs) were not enough to stay ahead of Merion Cricket Club, who pushed past the Fords with 101 runs in the 22nd over of the 25-over season opener. The Fords kept the match close, although they had just two days of practice and despite the loss of eight graduating seniors last year.
