CSA Team Championships Information

BOSTON – The Haverford College women's squash team will travel to Harvard University to take part in the Epps Cup of the College Squash Association's (CSA) Team Championships from Friday through Sunday.

The CSA Team Championships are broken down into six brackets. The first five brackets have eight teams in them while the sixth bracket has just four teams in it.

The Howe bracket features the top eight teams in the Dunlop Women's College Squash Rankings while the Kurtz bracket has the 9th-16th ranked teams. The Walker Bracket will include the 17th-24th placed teams and the Epps Cup has the 25th-32nd ranked teams. The E Division Bracket contains the 33rd-40th teams and the F Division Bracket is a round robin tournament for the 41st-44th places in the final rankings.

After winning the last two E Division Championships, the Fords made the jump to the Epps Cup for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign. The two E Division titles mark the only championships in the program's history.

Head coach Niki Clement's squad has had a banner 2014-15 season. The Fords has set a new program record with 10 wins. Senior Samara Flug has nine wins this year and 24 in her career which ranks third all-time. Her .615 winning percentage is fifth best in program history. Flug, senior Alex Love and junior Bethany Simmonds are among nine players all-time to reach the 20 career win plateau. Simmonds' .588 winning percentage is seventh all-time and her 12 wins this season are two shy of the all-time single season record.

Haverford will take on Tufts University on Friday beginning at 4:15 p.m. Tufts defeated Haverford 9-0 earlier this season. The winner of that match will take on the winner of Connecticut College and Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 3 p.m. Other teams in the bracket are William Smith, Boston College, Georgetown, and Mount Holyoke. The Tufts contest will have video and all matches this weekend will have live stats.
