The 2023-2024 Academic All-District ® Women’s Basketball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The Fords had the second-most Honor Roll selections in Men's Indoor Track & Field with 28, while Men's Basketball (8), Women's Basketball (9), and Women's Indoor Track & Field (18) all had the third-most Honor Roll honorees in their respective sports.
The Fords welcomed back their alumni to take part in a morning pick-up game before watching the current varsity team battle with Johns Hopkins later that afternoon.
Before the game, Haverford honored its five seniors (Gabriel Franklin, Brandon Banadda, Nicholas Stewart, Clay Killoren, and Will Hatfield) with a pregame ceremony.
For Haverford, Franklin led the way with 20 points, while Brown was able to secure his fourth career double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Senior Brandon Banadda paced all players on the floor with six assists.
The Fords had three scorers reach double figures, as Stewart’s season-high of 16 points led all Haverford players. Logan Brown also put in an extraordinary performance, rattling off 10 points and pulling down a season-high 16 rebounds.
The third player achieving double-digit points in the battle, was Brown who dropped in 15 points, and pulled down eight total rebounds. The first-year forward was a menace on defense, collecting a substantial five blocks in the clash with Ursinus.
Marr led not just Haverford, but all scorers in the battle with 19 points, after knocking down eight of nineteen shots and splashing in one three-pointer. Seth Anderson led the Fords on the glass, pulling down seven rebounds.
For the Fords, Kann Bek achieved a new season-high in points, posting 16 points after going 6-of-13 from the field, and 4-of-8 from behind the arc. Stewart also had a season-high in points for the Scarlet and Black, contributing 11 points after going 3-of-5 from three-point land.
Klaiber (12 points) and Franklin (16 points) finished as the leading scorers for the Fords, while Brandon Banadda contributed nine points and Marr added eight.
Leading the way for Haverford was Franklin who dropped 21 points on the day, and shot an impressive 5-of-7 from three. Brown also had a notable performance, as he captured a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Mack paced all Cavaliers in points with 13 points and five rebounds.
Klaiber’s 11 points in the second half pushed the first-year guard’s total to 18 points in the matchup, while Kaan Bek finished with a season-high 12 points. Clay Killoren pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, and handed out a team-leading four assists.
Logan Brown had quite the day at the office, collecting his first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, due in part to a big second-half in the paint.
Down 65-49, with the game seemingly out of reach, the Fords used a “never say die” moniker and went on a ridiculous 27-9 scoring to tie the game 74-74 with a minute remaining. In the massive comeback, the first-year duo of Klaiber and Marr caught fire, scoring nine points each.
The award marks the first collegiate honor for Marr, who was previously named to the 2022-2023 CSL All-Conference Team during his high school senior season in the Chicago area.
Marr paced the Fords in scoring at the end of the battle, dropping 21 points and going 6-for-6 from behind the arc. Nicholas Stewart managed to pull down a game-high nine rebounds, and dish out another game-high of six assists.
The Fords ended the matchup with three scorers in double figures, as Klaiber’s 14 points in the second half pushed his point total to a team-leading 19 points.
Klaiber led all Haverford scorers with 14 points in his second collegiate contest, while Marr added eight, and Kaan Bek tallied seven. Marr led the Fords in rebounds with six, and tied for the team lead in assists with two, sharing the total with Banadda.
