Men's and Women's Soccer Earn NSCAA Team Academic Honor

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men’s and women’s soccer programs have been honored as 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award winners. A total of 305 men’s college programs and 554 women’s college programs were honored with this distinction.

The award recognizes teams that maintain grade point averages of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The NSCAA Team Academic Award honors teams based on their performances from the previous academic year, in this case the 2014-15 school year.

Haverford is one of just 208 schools that had both its men’s and women’s team honored with this award. Both the men’s and women’s team have earned this honor in each of the past 10 seasons. Over the past 19 years of this award, women’s soccer has won this award 18 times, while the men have been honored 17 times.

Throughout the Centennial Conference, Johns Hopkins and Washington College were the only other institutions to have both its men’s and women’s programs recognized with this academic team honor.
