Thirty-eight Fords named to conference Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. – Thirty-eight student-athletes from Haverford College have been named to the Centennial Conference's 2010 Winter Academic Honor Roll as released by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Men's indoor track, with 23 honorees, and men's basketball, with four, paced their respective sports on the Honor Roll. Women's indoor track put 10 on the list and women's basketball had one awardee.

To earn conference Honor Roll recognition student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of regular season contests (or participated in the Centennial championship in swimming, indoor track & field or wrestling), must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, and must possess a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.40 or higher.

Seniors Andrew Lanham, Richard Marsico and Andrew Wei from indoor track & field earned league academic honors for the third time of their three eligible years.

Joseph Carpenter '11, Eric Chesterton '11, Phil Eiseman '10, (2010 NCAA indoor championship qualifier) Anders Hulleberg '11, Phillip Kim '10, Morgan Kist '11, Chris Southwick '11 and Elias Tousley '11 from track & field are second-time honorees while teammates Matt Cohen '12, Ben Cutilli '12, Pat Haneman '12, Ruben Land '12, Taehyun Lim '12, Tom Mahoney '12, Edward Oh '12, Jacob Olshansky '12, Tim Schoch '12, Faraz Sohail '12, Andrew Sturner '12 and Lucas Van Meter '12 were each named to the winter Honor Roll for the first time.

In men's basketball, both Doug Edelman '10 and (Honorable Mention All-Conference) Sam Permutt '11 earned Honor Roll inclusion for the second time. Bo Friddell '12 and Michael Gabriel '10 are on the list for the first time.

Women's track, whose 10 student-athletes on the list was second-most of Centennial indoor track & field programs, was paced by individual Centennial champions Jackie Freund '10 (shot put) and Aileen Keogh (800 meter run) who both made the Honor Roll for the second time as did teammates Maya Cabot '10 and Kaia Davis '10.

Earning league academic honors for the first time from the indoor team were Sarah Brown '12, Jamie Croucher '12, Emily Lipman '12, Kathryn Meehan '12, Molly Minden '12 and Alice Vienneau '12.

Junior Liz Mayell, a two-time academic honoree, represented the women's basketball team on the league Honor Roll.
