Haverford Athletics

  • NCAA Postgraduate Scholar: Sam Yarosh (fall) – the ninth straight year a Haverford student-athlete has been honored.
  • Haverford had the most student-athletes (91) named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. The Fords finished with 189 Academic Honor Roll selections during the 2015-16 academic year.
  • 44 student-athletes were named to All-Centennial Conference teams.
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team: Thomas Vollaro (baseball), Sara Tauriello (softball), Eric Caliendo (men’s lacrosse), Elyse Adler (women’s lacrosse), Harrison Elbert (men’s tennis), Robyn Himelstein (women’s tennis), Dorvil Gabriel (men’s track & field), Molly Allen (women’s track & field)
  • Men’s outdoor track & field, baseball, and softball were all represented at the NCAA Division III National Championship
  • Haverford finished 42nd overall with its second highest point total in school history in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings
  • Haverford won the Hood Trophy over Swarthmore for the 25th straight year by a 13-5 score.

Softball

  • Won the Centennial Conference for the second time in the past three seasons and the third time in program history
  • Advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history after winning a regional which featured the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the entire country
  • Came up just one game short of the NCAA College World Series in a decisive game three loss at Messiah during the Super Regional
  • The Class of 2016 graduates as the winningest class in program history with 108 wins and it’s the first in program history to make the playoffs in each of its four seasons
  • Norfolk, Virginia Regional All-Tournament Team: Jessica Koshinski, Julia Blake, Kendall Chambers (most outstanding player of the tournament)

  • Charlie Marquardt placed fourth in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to become just the seventh runner in school history to finish with at least six career All-America certificates across all three seasons
