Blue Devils hand baseball 9-4 loss

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Haverford College baseball team saw its four-game win streak end Thursday afternoon as they were defeated by Fredonia (N.Y.) State University, 9-4, at Terry Park.

With the game tied at 4-4 after six innings Fredonia State (1-0) scored five runs in the seventh inning to provide the final margin.

Brian Henrick went 6.0 innings in his second start of the spring trip. Henrick allowed just three earned runs and struck out four. Doug Edelman (0-1) started the seventh inning and was touched up for four earned runs on four hits in 0.2 of an inning. Dan Feller took over for Edelman and threw the last 1.1 innings.

Jake Kaden led Haverford (5-2) at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Jeff Butera and Chase Kennedy drove in the other two runs.

Haverford concludes its spring trip, taking on Carroll (Wis.) University in a doubleheader Friday. The first game starts at 9 a.m.
