Bob Colburn '59 has been the head baseball coach at St. Andrew's school in Middletown, Del. and has amassed over 400 wins. With the start of a new season just around the corner, Colburn is the recipient of the 2011 Herm Reitzes Award, which is presented by the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association (DSBA) to an individual for outstanding public service. He will receive the award at the DSBA banquet Thursday, Mar. 31 at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.

In a related story, Colburn's daughter Clair Colburn '91 – played women's lacrosse at Haverford – along with her husband Marc Melitz '89, who played men's basketball, hosted a postgame reception at their house in Belmont, Mass. following the women's lacrosse game at Babson Mar. 10. The reception included a discussion with Laura McGrane, professor of English and team faculty liaison.
