Butera named Centennial Conference offensive player of the week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior left fielder Jeff Butera was selected as the Centennial Conference baseball offensive player of the week, for the week ending April 24.

In a 3-1 week for the Fords, Butera hit at a .438 clip (7-of-13) with a home run, five RBIs, four runs scored and two stolen bases. Butera drove in a season-high four runs in a 7-4 victory in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Gettysburg. He went 3-for-4, including a double and his sixth home run of the season. Against Franklin & Marshall, Butera was 2-for-5 the plate and scored twice. The Fords won that game, 12-5.

He is currently second in the conference in home runs and triples (two) and third in RBIs (31) and doubles (11).

Haverford closes out its regular season with a non-conference home contest against Widener Tuesday, April 26 at 3:30 p.m. The Fords have clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference championship tournament.
