Seventh inning rally aids baseball in 13-4 win over Kenyon

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A seven-run, seventh inning rally helped the Haverford College baseball team to a 13-4 victory over Kenyon College Friday evening. Delayed three hours by rain at the start, the Fords scored three runs in the bottom of the third and never looked back.

An RBI triple by Jeff Butera in the third got Haverford (6-0) on the board. After Kenyon scored a run in the fifth, the Fords were at it again in the sixth. Jeremy Zoll's triple and Matt Liscovtiz's single scored runs. In the seventh, Bobby Bailey brought in a run with a single while Liscovitz belted a triple, scoring two runs.

Mike Galetta started on the mound for the Fords and lasted five innings, allowing four runs on just two hits while striking out three batters. Patrick Falkoff (1-0) pitched the final four innings and surrendered just one hit and no runs while striking out four batters.

Jake Chaplin and Butera each collected a pair of hits. Chaplin had two doubles while Butera scored two runs. Bailey and Zoll both went 3-for-5 in the game. Bailey scored three runs and drove in two runs. Zoll collected three RBI.

Haverford takes on Defiance (Ohio) College Friday in a doubleheader which gets underway at 9 a.m.
