HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College senior shortstop Charlie Carluccio has been named to the 2011 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America third team Friday.

Carluccio adds this honor to his already lengthy list of 2011 accolades. This season, he has been tabbed for the D3baseball.com All-America first team, ABCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region first team and the Centennial Conference first team. Carluccio was also named the conference's player of the year.

Carluccio was tops in the Centennial in hits (61), RBIs (46) and total bases (96). He set single-season school records in runs scored (42), assists (147) and hits. This spring, Carluccio became Haverford's career leader in hits (191), RBIs (148), runs (144), and assists (482).

Of the 50 players that made up the ABCA/Rawlings all-America first, second and third teams, Carluccio is the only Centennial Conference player on the list.

Carluccio is Haverford's first baseball all-American, and third overall, since Chaon Garland in 1990.

The Fords posted a 32-10 overall record in 2011. The team set records for wins and winning percentage (.762) and reached the championship series of the conference tournament for the third time in four years.
