Golf outing to benefit baseball program

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The fifth annual Haverford College Baseball Golf Classic will be Friday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at Torresdale Frankford Country Club in Philadelphia.

The event, which is a shotgun start and scramble format, is an opportunity for current student-athletes, alumni, family and friends to get together in celebration of the memories that have been created and the relationships that have been formed through baseball at Haverford. Proceeds from this event will support the baseball team's annual spring break trip via the college's Athletics Team Travel Fund.

The registration fee ($200 per person) includes lunch, golf, on-course beverages, and a barbecue after the round of golf.

A Donald Ross design, Torresdale Frankford Country Club hosted two National Championships in the early 1940's. All of the famous professional golfers of that time participated. Sam Snead holds the course record of 64, which he posted in the Philadelphia Open held at TFCC in September of 1941.

To register for this event or to sponsor an aspect of the golf outing, please contact Dave Beccaria at 610-896-1172 or via email.
