HAVERFORD, Pa. - For the second consecutive season, the Haverford College baseball team is receiving votes in the preseason release of Collegiate Baseball's 2021 Division III Preseason Poll, the publication announced late last month.

Defending Centennial Conference champion Johns Hopkins were tabbed as the No. 14 team in the preseason poll while conference foes Franklin & Marshall and Washington College join Haverford in receiving votes in the annual prognostication.

The Fords recorded a 7-5 record during the abbreviated 2020 campaign, including a resounding 17-6 victory over No. 16 Wooster on March 9. The offense certainly clicked in the shortened year, hitting .347 and averaging almost nine runs per contest. Haverford outscored opponents 409 to 356 while junior Zach Landry clubbed three homers on the team's spring break stint in Fort Myers, Fla. Sophomore Josh Fuller recorded a three-hit shutout on the trip, scattering three hits and eight strikeouts in a seven-inning blanking of Hiram.

The Fords won 20 games during the 2019 season and advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship series for the eighth time in program history. Haverford has reached the conference tournament during 13 of its past 15 editions, bringing home the conference title on three occasions (2012, 2014, and 2016).
