HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College sophomore pitcher Mike Rabayda has been named to the 2022 Region 5 All-Region Third Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon. He becomes the first Haverford player to reach an ABCA All-Region squad since Will Karp took home the honor during the 2019 season.

Rabayda, who was a dominant force on the mound for the Fords, emerged as one of the top pitchers in the Centennial Conference with a dominating sophomore campaign. In his first full season of collegiate action, The Richboro, Pa. product made 12 appearances on the mound, all starts, leading the CC in that category. He finished second in the Centennial with 93 strikeouts, and paced that grouping with 13.22 strikeouts per nine innings.

Rabayda had 10 starts with five or more strikeouts, reaching double digits on two occasions, 12 in a start against Hiram (Mar. 11) and a career-best 13 in just six innings against Gettysburg (Apr. 16). Against Washington College on April 8, Rabayda tossed six no-hit innings holding the Shoremen off guard with just one walk and nine strikeouts.  He was named Centennial Conference Pitcher of The Week following that stellar performance that captivated the crowd at Kannerstein Field.
