HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College baseball team (19-13, 8-7 CC) dropped a Centennial Conference matchup on Tuesday at Swarthmore's Clothier Field, falling to the Garnet (21-15, 12-3 CC) by a 23-6 final in seven innings.

Senior second baseman Harry Genth continued his standout season, extending his hitting streak to 30 games and adding an RBI to his career total, bringing him within one of tying the program record. Genth's hitting streak is the fourth-longest in Centennial Conference history and the longest since Chuck Probst hit safely in 31 consecutive games in 2016 and 2017.

Genth drove in a run with a double down the left field line in the fourth inning, his lone hit in three official at-bats. The RBI was his 147th, leaving him just one behind Charlie Carluccio '11 on Haverford's all-time list. Genth also drew a walk and scored a run earlier in the game.

First-year Jackson Sgro continued to make an impact at the plate, collecting three of Haverford's six hits and driving in two runs. He went 3-for-3 with a walk, including a two-run homer in the sixth. Since the start of April, Sgro is hitting .471 with 24 hits, including five homers and four doubles. He has 25 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Anthony Runfola added an RBI double, while Matt Dahl contributed a bases-loaded walk.

Swarthmore took an early lead, scoring nine runs over the first two innings and adding six more in the third. The Garnet capitalized on a combination of consistent hitting and Haverford's struggles on the mound. The Fords used six pitchers, with starter David Bertz charged with eight earned runs over 1.2 innings.

Matthew Silvestre paced Swarthmore's offense, finishing 4-for-4 with a three-run homer and five RBI. Brad Johnston added a grand slam as part of a five-RBI performance. In total, the Garnet recorded 21 hits.

Liam Alpern earned the win for Swarthmore, pitching five innings while allowing four runs, striking out six, and walking six.

Haverford returns to non-conference action Wednesday, hosting Rosemont for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch at Kannerstein Field. The Fords then close out the regular season with three crucial conference games: at home against Swarthmore on Friday, April 25 at 3:30 p.m., followed by a doubleheader at Dickinson on Saturday, April 26.
