HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford field hockey attacker Roxy Vassighi has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced in its weekly release on Tuesday morning. The honor is the first career weekly award for the product of Moorestown, N.J.

A vital part of Haverford's penalty corner offense, Vassighi notched nine points in a 2-0 week for the Fords. The junior opened the homestand with a pair of goals and four assists in a mesmerizing 7-3 victory against Washington College. Her four assists were the most in the program's single-game history and marked only the 10th time in Centennial Conference history and first time since 2014 that a CC player registered four or more assists in a single game.

Continuing to be a threat offensively, Vassighi followed up that impressive performance with an assist in a win against McDaniel on Saturday to cap a prolific week. Vassighi is currently tied for the team lead in points (18), while leading the squad in assists (8). Her five helpers during conference competition is tops in the Centennial Conference thus far in 2019. In her career at Haverford, Vassighi has tallied 10 goals and 11 assists while taking an even 100 total shots.

The award is the second weekly honor for a Haverford player this season as first year Anna Kirn was previously named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week on September 3.

The Fords (8-6, 2-5 CC) next return to action on Saturday at Dickinson in yet another key Centennial Conference clash with the Red Devils (6-7, 3-4 CC). First pass is slated for 1 p.m in Carlisle, Pa.
