GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The No. 20 Haverford College field hockey team (13-2, 6-2 CC) captured a berth in the Centennial Conference tournament for the first time since the 2017 season with an emphatic 3-0 shutout of host Gettysburg (7-7, 3-5 CC) on Saturday afternoon at Shirk Stadium.

The Fords have now won 13 contests this season, just one short of the program record of 14 victories set in both the 2012 and 2010 seasons. Haverford's 13-2 mark is the best 15-game start to a season in program history.

Gettysburg had some strong offensive chances in the early goings of the Saturday matinee before Hannah Roth dealt with a few dangerous shots on frame from the Bullets. In total, Roth was called into action to make five saves, notching her second consecutive shutout victory, and sixth overall in her stellar senior season.

Ravenel Davis continued her torrid offensive campaign, with the game-winning goal, a program-record ninth game winner this season. Davis tallied that opener in the 11th minute, dribbling into the circle and doing the work down low to get centered and beat the keeper towards the near post. Davis now has 17 goals on the season, a total that continues to lead the Centennial Conference.

The Fords tallied again with under five minutes remaining in the third as Davis again sprinted down the sideline and into the circle. The senior captain fired a shot that was saved by Eilene Besselman as the save redirected and found the waiting stick of Amy Kim on the far side of the cage. Kim pushed what appeared to be a pass back towards Davis, but the attempt went into the cage before Davis could get a stick on it as Kim notched her third goal in her rookie campaign with the Fords.

Olivia Ahart scored an insurance goal in the 50th minute as her shot trickled off the back line of the Bullets and into the cage. Haverford had an efficient offensive output, scoring on three of its nine shots and taking the victory despite notching just one penalty corner in the 60 minutes of action.

Keishla Sanchez proved to be an active part of the offensive gameplan, rocketing three shots for the Fords. Lauren Beccaria and Emma Bertrando had the bulk of the offensive chances for Gettysburg, but Roth frustrated Beccaria to the tune of three denials.

The win was Haverford's first at Gettysburg since the 2015 season. The Fords will return to action on Wednesday in a contest at No. 14 Ursinus. The matchup in Collegeville is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
