
HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College athletics department is pleased to announce that Georgia Werkiser has joined the field hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2024 season.
Werkiser, a Millersville University graduate, brings significant experience and accolades to her new role. During her five-year tenure with the Millersville field hockey program, she was named to the NFHCA All-America first team, the Synapse Sports All-America second team, and the All-PSAC first team in 2022. Additionally, she was recognized as a PSAC-Scholar Athlete in 2021 and 2022. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a Masters in Sports Management.
"I am extremely excited to be joining the Haverford field hockey coaching staff," Werkiser said. "My goal is to bring a new perspective and level of field hockey to the team so they can continue to compete for championships within the Centennial Conference. Coach Cox has done an incredible job building a competitive environment and holding her team to a high standard. I am eager to incorporate my knowledge and challenge the players at Haverford."
The Norristown, Pa. product will toe the sideline for the season opener with Eastern on Saturday, August 31. The contest, on the road in St. Davids, Pa. will begin at 11 a.m. - The full 2024 schedule is slated to be unveiled later this summer.
