Bostick named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Haverford College junior epeeist Andrew Bostick was named to the 2010-11 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's At-Large Team on Tuesday. The team was voted on by the Philadelphia metropolitan area's 28 sports information offices.

Bostick, an English major, is on the squad for the first time. This season, he came in eighth place at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament. A Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) first team selection, Bostick helped the Fords claim the MACFA crown by earning a silver medal. He was a part of Haverford's bronze medal epee team at the 2011 United States National Weapon Squad Championships. Bostick opened the season with a gold-medal performance at the Temple Open.

To be nominated for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30.
