MADISON, N.J. - The Haverford College mens's and women's fencing programs will compete at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships on Saturday, March 8 at the Simon Forum on the campus of Drew University.

Several Haverford student-athletes qualified for NCAA regional competition in 2025. In men's foil, Michael Pyo, Andrew Strayer, Henry Bishop, Henry Fedonchik, and Dean Myers all earned spots. 

Jack Greff will represent the program in men's sabre, while Eric Chen, Vivek Veluvali, and Kenji Gullo all qualified in men's epee. On the women's side, Sophie Gardiner secured a spot in women's foil, while Nina Hamilton and Nina Chafee qualified in women's epee.

Competition will start at 9 a.m. for épée and foil, 11 a.m. for men's sabre, and 12 p.m. for women's sabre. Live results will be available here with a live video feed from the strips in Madison avaliable here. 

Haverford will be pitted against fencers from Princeton, Penn State, Johns Hopkins, Penn, Duke, North Carolina, Fairleigh Dickinson, Drew, Stevens, Temple (women), NJIT, Wagner, and Lafayette.

The regionals account for 60 percent of the results that determine selection to the NCAA championships, while regular-season results account for the other 40 percent. The region will get seven NCAA bids in men's and women's foil and women's sabre, and six bids in men's and women's épée and men's sabre.

The other regional sites that are also being held this weekend are at Denison (Midwest), the United States Air Force Academy (West), and Tufts (Northeast). Additionally, there are two at-large berths in each weapon nationally, across the four regions. Selections for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for March 20-23 at Penn State University in University, Park Pa, will be announced next Tuesday, March 11.
