HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College junior foilist Andrew Strayer (Wayne, Pa. / Upper Merion) has been additionally named to the 2025 United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Division III All-Mid-Atlantic/South Region honors, joining teammates Eric Chen, Michael Pyo, and Dean Myers.
The USFCA recently announced the recipients of the All-Region Awards, based on results and field size at each NCAA Regional competition.
Due to a new set of committee members this year, there were some initial errors in recognizing the All-Region honorees. Specifically, an issue with the use of scientific notation led to a miscommunication of the number of athletes selected. These errors have since been corrected, and the updated list of All-Region Team members is now available, along with an updated worksheet on how the All-Region Team awards are created.
Strayer placed 25th overall in the foil at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Championships on March 8, advancing to the second-round pools in Madison, N.J.
On March 2, Strayer played a crucial role in Haverford's silver-medal finish at the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) Championships for the second consecutive season. He finished with an impressive 11-1 record in the "C" pool.
