Why did you choose Haverford?
When I was looking at colleges, I realized I wanted a smaller school and loved how well-rounded the liberal arts education was. I also knew I wanted to play lacrosse at the Division III level at a college relatively close to home (D.C.). So when I visited colleges I was looking for what would give me the best combination of lacrosse and academics and Haverford fit that perfectly. It also had an ideal location being near Philadelphia and less than a three-hour drive from D.C.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite team experience was beating Swarthmore last year to make the Centennial Conference playoffs for the first time since 2011. The locker room celebration after was absolutely electric.

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
I have wanted to play sports in college since I was very little and sustained that throughout high school. I think this came from my love of competition combined with the camaraderie that team sports produce.

What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
Being a student-athlete is all about balance. It has taught me so much about time management, accountability, the importance of work ethic, and how to relax. When school stresses me out, I know I always have the lacrosse field to unwind. To me, there is nothing more peaceful than practicing next to a beautiful sunset on Swan surrounded by my best friends.

What advice would you give a high school student considering Haverford?
I would advise them to visit and really try and get to know members of the team and the school itself as much as possible. Do not go into the college application process without considering whether you would be happy at a certain school if you were not playing your respective sport.  Also, it is understandable to be nervous, but the truth is we want to get to know you just as much as you want to get to know Haverford so don't be shy.
