Restrepo nets game-winner as Haverford men’s soccer defeats Neumann, 2-1

ASTON, Pa.  – Forward David Restrepo scored in the 104th minute to give the Haverford College men's soccer team a 2-1 double-overtime victory over host Neumann University in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder David Robinson assisted on Restrepo's first goal of the season.

In goal, Andriy Mshanetskyy stopped three shots, one in the second overtime session, in his first career start for the Fords. The Knights' Alex Lacko made two saves.  

Haverford (1-0-0) took the early lead on midfielder Matt Gorski's first goal of 2011 in the 11th minute. Midfielder Andrew Leissing netted the equalizer for Neumann (0-2-0) in the 57th minute. Back Dan Chrashewsky picked up an assist on the goal.

Haverford returns to the field Tuesday, September with a non-conference showdown at Messiah College, the top ranked team in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. Kick-off is 7 p.m.
