Restrepo lifts Fords to third straight win

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- David Restrepo's 73rd minute goal gave the Haverford College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Centennial Conference opponent Gettysburg College at Clark Field on a windy Saturday afternoon.

The Fords won their third straight contest and improved to 6-6-1 overall and 2-4 in the Centennial. Gettysburg is now 6-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.

Restrepo's team-leading fourth goal of the season came at the 72:59 mark. After receiving a pass from Steve Griffith, who picked up an assist, Restrepo buried his shot into the right side of the net.

Haverford keeper Nick Kahn made two saves to earn his second shut-out of 2011 and improve his record to 4-0-1. Gettysburg's Connor Darrell stopped four shots. The Fords owned an 11-4 shots advantage, including a 7-2 advantage in the second half.

Haverford visits Rutgers-Camden for a non-conference tilt Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
