Mshanetskyy named Centennial defensive player of the week

LANCASTER, Pa. - Propelling the Fords to two significant victories, Haverford College goalkeeper Andriy Mshanetskyy earned the Centennial Conference men's soccer defensive player of the week award as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Turning away 15 of the 16 shots he faced on the week, Mshanetskyy registered a season-high nine stops against Rowan University in a 3-1 victory to help the Fords upend the Profs for the first time in program history.

The junior from Durham, England capped the week with a six-save outing that enabled Haverford to upset 20th-ranked Dickinson College, 3-0, and secure its fifth consecutive win. The shutout against the Red Devils was Mshanetskyy's fourth of the season.

Currently in second place in the Centennial, the Fords host Gettysburg College on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
