Bohrmann and Mshanetskyy sweep conference player of the week honors

LANCASTER, Pa. - Ford Bohrmann and Andriy Mshanetskyy helped the Haverford College men's soccer team claim the first Centennial Conference title in program history with a stirring run through the postseason tournament. The conference recognized their efforts by naming Bohrmann and Mshanetskyy the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, on Monday afternoon.

Under the bright lights of the conference tournament stage, Bohrmann (pictured, on left) nailed home the two most meaningful goals of the Fords' season. The junior forward tallied the game-winner in the final minute of the first half in a 1-0 triumph over defending champion Dickinson and then gave a repeat performance with an unassisted tally in the 44th minute as Haverford upset No. 1 seed, and tournament host, Swarthmore by an identical 1-0 score.

Named the defensive player of the week for the second time this season, Mshanetskyy (pictured, on right) posted back-to-back shutouts in the biggest matches of the 2012 slate as the Fords blanked the Red Devils and Garnet to capture the title. Registering three shutouts in his last four outings, and six shutouts overall, Mshanetskyy has lowered his goals against average to 0.96.

Haverford heads into the NCAA tournament for the fourth time in program history by virtue of the conference's automatic bid. The Fords will take on Wesleyan (Conn.) University in a first-round game at Arcadia University on Nov. 10.
