HAVERFORD, Pa. - A look back at a historic season on the pitch for the Haverford College men's soccer team:
Signature Wins:The 2012 squad added a new chapter to the storied history of Haverford College men's soccer when the Fords made a thrilling run through the Centennial Conference tournament to capture the conference championship for the first time. Third-seeded Haverford claimed a pair of 1-0 upsets in the conference semifinals (Dickinson) and final (No. 10 Swarthmore) to secure the elusive title. Tallying both goals, junior Ford Bohrmann provided all the offense necessary as junior goalie Andriy Mshanetskyyrecorded back-to-back shutouts. The Fords continued to make their mark in the NCAA Division III men's soccer championship as they got past Wesleyan (Conn.) University, in penalty kicks, 4-2, to advance to the second round of the national tournament for the first time in program history.
Season Notes:Haverford went 12-8-1 overall and 6-3 in conference play … The 12 wins were the most achieved since the 1999 squad and tied for the fourth-highest win total in program history … The six Centennial victories were the most in program history … The Fords' 3-0 loss to fifth-ranked Stevens University in the second round of the NCAA tournament was just the team's second setback in their last seven outings … Each of Bohrmann's three goals on the season were game winners … Sam Yarosh and Matt Gorski tied for the team lead in goals with seven apiece … Brady Seitz topped the team in assists (six) and points (18) … The freshman trio of Yarosh and Colin and Brady Seitz accounted for 18 of the squad's 34 goals on the season … Mshanetskyy started all 21 games in goal and tallied seven shutouts … The Fords topped the conference in shots (294) and corners (105) … Haverford held its opponents to two goals or less in 19 of 21 contests on the year. .. The team was 11-1 when scoring first in a contest … The Fords' 3-1 victory over Rowan on Oct. 2 was the first win in program history over the Profs … Gorski graduates as the program leader in penalty kick goals with four.

Looking Ahead: The Fords will lose five players to graduation who helped guide the Fords through its current renaissance period. Chief among those losses will be Gorski and Garfing who were fixtures in the midfield throughout their careers. Morollo, Reingruber and Matt Johnson return to anchor the consistent defense in front of Mshanetskyy while the Seitz brothers and Yarosh should continue to be difference makers on offense. Add in the presence of rising seniors David Robinson, Colin Lubelczyk and Ford Bohrmann and Haverford has the look of a Centennial contender once again.
