Men's Soccer Places Four on All-Centennial Team

Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's soccer team had four of its players named to the All-Centennial Conference squad. Brady Seitz headlined the Fords' all-conference selections as he was named first-team All-Centennial Conference. Three others, Will Corkery, Colin Seitz and Tejan Walcott, were named honorable mention All-Centennial Conference. In addition to the all-conference picks, Charlie Crawford was named to the Centennial Conference's All-Sportsmanship team.

Brady Seitz had a breakout year during his junior campaign for the Fords. After earning honorable mention All-Centennial Conference accolades as a freshman, Seitz led the Centennial Conference with 12 goals and 27 points this season. Four of Seitz's goals were game-winners, most notably in the Centennial Conference first round win vs. Johns Hopkins. The junior's three assists also ranked third on the team. Seitz recorded his second career hat trick this season with three goals at Rutgers-Camden in the Fords' 7-4 win.

Seitz's 12 goals this season rank as the 20th best total in a single season in program history. That scoring output was the highest total in one season since Rich Billings '00 scored 16 goals during the 1998 season. Seitz's 27 points in one season were the most since John Heacock '04 also recorded 27 points with 10 goals and seven assists during the 2000 season. Should his goal total keep him atop the Centennial Conference, he would become just the third Haverford player in program history to lead the league in goals. Frank Adamson '98 (18 goals in 1997) and Billings (18 goals in 1996) each shared this distinction with opponents from another school during their time at Haverford.

The Seitz connection doubled up on the All-Centennial Conference honors as Colin Seitz was one of three Fords to be named honorable mention All-Centennial Conference. Playing in a more defensive role this season, Colin Seitz started all 16 games in which he appeared. He also recorded three assists to tie him for third on the team. Seitz scored in the Fords' season opening win on the road against Goucher. The honorable mention All-Centennial Conference nod is the first of Colin Seitz's career with the Fords.

Will Corkery also earned honorable mention All-Centennial Conference accolades for the first time in his career at Haverford. The sophomore midfielder was one of just two players to start all 19 games for the Fords this season. A catalyst for setting up the offense, Corkery led the team with eight assists. That mark is also tied with two other players for the most in the Centennial Conference. Should he continue to remain tied atop the conference in assists, Corkery would be the third player in Haverford history to lead the Centennial Conference assists. Matt Gorksi '13 (eight assists in 2009) and Jesse Stollak '99 (16 assists in 1997) have also led the league in this category. Corkery also scored a goal at Dickinson.

Tejan Walcott earned an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference selection for his first career all-conference accolade at Haverford. The sophomore forward ranked second on the team with seven goals, setting a new personal single season best. Walcott scored two goals against both Rutgers-Camden and Muhlenberg during the regular season. He also scored the game-winning goal in the Centennial Conference semifinal final against top-seeded and then-No. 4 Franklin & Marshall. Walcott also scored the game-winning goal with just 2:50 left on the clock in the Fords' 1-0 win over Lebanon Valley.

Senior Charlie Crawford was named to the Centennial Conference's All-Sportsmanship team to cap off the Haverford award recipients. Crawford asserted himself as a starter for the first time in his career during the 2014 season. He was one of five players to play in all 19 games this season, starting 18 of those contests for Haverford defensively.

The Fords finished the 2014 season with a record of 11-7-1, including a 4-4-1 mark in the regular season in the Centennial Conference. During the postseason, Haverford edged Johns Hopkins in the first round before knocking off top-seeded Franklin & Marshall in the conference semifinals. Playing for the Centennial Conference Championship for the third time in four seasons, the Fords saw their postseason run come to a close with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Muhlenberg. Haverford is slated to return all but the aforementioned Crawford for the 2015 season.
