United Soccer Coaches All-American announcement

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Nick Jannelli continues to double down this award season as he was honored Thursday with his selection to the United Soccer Coaches second-team All-America squad. Jannelli, who was a third-team selection a year ago, is the first two-time All-American at Haverford to be recognized by the United Soccer Coaches (previously NSCAA) in nearly 60 years.

With his most recent accolade, Jannelli joins an exclusive list of 19 multiple time All-Americans at Haverford. Each of those previous award winners came prior to the formation of Division III. Jannelli is the first two-time All-American since Gyula Kovacsics did so during the 1959 and 1960 seasons. Wilmer Young was the first-ever two-time All-American from the nation's first intercollegiate men's soccer program when he did so over a century ago during the 1910 and 1911 campaigns.

Earlier this fall, Jannelli became just the second player ever to win multiple Centennial Conference Player of the Year honors as he did so during both his junior and senior campaigns. Jannelli, one of just two multi-time CC Players of the Year in conference history, led the Centennial Conference with 30 points through the regular season as he scored 11 goals and assisted on eight others. It marked the second straight season in which Jannelli led the conference in points. Jannelli capped his career as a four-time All-Centennial Conference selection, earning first-team All-CC accolades three times.

A co-captain on the 2019 team, Jannelli's senior year was headlined by multi-goal outings against Cabrini, Hampden-Sydney, and Muhlenberg, scoring the game-winning goal during those last two contests. Jannelli scored a goal in seven different contests as Haverford was 4-2-1 in those matches. Over his four seasons, the Fords were 38-5-1 when Jannelli found the back of the net. Jannelli earned Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the sixth time in his career this fall after helping Haverford get into the Centennial Conference playoffs during the final week of the regular season.

During his Haverford career, Jannelli was a part of two Centennial Conference Championships teams as he won Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year honors during the Fords' 2016 championship run and picked up his first CC Player of the Year accolade during another championship season in 2018.

Jannelli finished his Haverford career with 45 goals scored to go along with 24 assists. He holds the school record both game-winning goals (16) and penalty kicks made (11) for a career and became the first Ford this Century to crack the 100-point barrier for his career as he was just the sixth player in program history to ever accomplish that feat.
