Blog Day Six: Last Full Day in Barcelona

Blog Day Six: Last Full Day in Barcelona

Welcome back to another blog with Dylan Ioffreda. I'm sad to say our journey is coming to an end as this is our last full day in Barcelona.

We started our day with another great breakfast in the hotel. We were then off to Mataró, a town just outside of Barcelona, to play and teach soccer with underprivileged children. About 30 children came through and it was a remarkable experience. We and the kids split up into three teams and played winner stays on for over an hour. My team particularly enjoyed planning out group celebrations for whenever we scored. The best celly was when we all sat down in a line and rowed the boat.

After the busy morning, we went back to the hotel to rest and pack before our night game. The game was versus Calella in a scenic suburb of Barcelona. After a 0-0 stalemate at the half, Paul put two past them in the second to cap off the trip with a 2-0 victory. And Ben Ward had an iconic jersey swap with a random fan.

Before heading to bed, we ate some delicious paella and packed up our stuff to prepare for an early check out the following morning.

It has been an incredible journey with the team and we are ready to get rolling for preseason. We have a big season ahead of us so stay tuned.
