CC Preseason Poll: Men's Soccer Picked Sixth

Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's soccer team was predicted to finish sixth in the Centennial Conference standings by a vote of the conference's head coaches, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday morning. Johns Hopkins was picked to win the conference crown.

The Blue Jays claimed five first-place votes with a total of 76 points. Three other teams received at least one first-place vote in the poll, as the upcoming season figures to be another highly-competitive chase for the title and playoff positioning. Gettysburg (#3, 62 points) and defending-champion Washington College (#5, 53 points) each secured a first-place nod, while Franklin & Marshall (#2, 71 points) claimed the remaining three first-place votes.

Swarthmore (56) was picked fourth, with the Fords (41) projected to finish sixth. Muhlenberg (35), Ursinus (22), Dickinson (20), and McDaniel (14) rounded out the voting. The Fords return some top talent on both sides of the field as attacker Paul-Andre Coulibaly and defender Max Mouer are both back after All-Centennial Conference nods a season ago. In total, 24 All-Centennial Conference players return across the conference.

The team's official start of the season is slated for September 1 against Cabrini on Walton Field. The Fords hit the road for a two-game road trip to take on Wilkes (Sept. 3) and Rowan (Sept. 7) before hosting the annual Jimmy Mills Classic Tournament. For the tournament, Haverford takes on Lycoming on Saturday, September 10, and Skidmore the following day.
