Six Named CSC Academic All-District Selections for Men's Soccer

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Six members of the Haverford College men's soccer team were honored by the College Sports Communications (formerly CoSIDA) as honorees on the CSC Academic All-District V team, the organization announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon. Tomas Ascoli, Joey Carol, Dylan Ioffreda, Caleb Miller, Max Mouer, and Meinhardt Rentrup were all honored by the organization. 

Ascoli appeared in 15 games this season, scoring a goal against Dickinson on September 17 and adding an assist in that contest. The Mathematics major also tallied assists against Stockton on September 20 and against Swarthmore in a season finale win. 

Carol appeared in 16 games, logging four starts. The sophomore got the start in Haverford's win at Rowan on September 7. The philosophy major tallied a pair of goals, and a pair of assists in 11 games, including 10 starts. He tallied two assists against Arcadia on September 14 and exploded for two goals against Ursinus on October 8. 

Ioffreda, a team captain, earned his first All-Conference nod after a stellar junior season between the pipes for the Fords. The Hershey, Pa. product led the Centennial Conference in saves, posting 84 on the season, including 46 in CC games. His .800 save percentage was good for fifth in the conference, and that number jumped up to .821 in conference games, good for fourth among CC competitors. Ioffreda logged three shutouts on the season, blanking CC champions Muhlenberg and Rutgers-Camden in consecutive contests on October 1 and October 5, before also holding McDaniel without a goal on October 15.

Mouer, a 2021 selection to the All-Conference season, provided an instant spark for the Fords in his captaincy, starting 12 games and adding goals against Dickinson (Sep. 17) and Stockton (Sep. 20). Rentrup, another captain on the squad,  appeared in 17 contests, making 11 starts at forward. The political science major fired 11 shots on the season. 

The 2022 Academic All-District ® Women's Soccer Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division II and NAIA. All six Fords will  now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
