GALLOWAY, N.J. - The Haverford College men's soccer team (1-1-5) was edged by host Stockton (4-0-2), falling 1-0 in a battle of undefeated squads on Wednesday night in the Garden State.

The game had a quick start from both sides, with Cyrus Nasseri adding a pair of shots on frame in the first 10 minutes of play. Haverford continued to pepper the goal, with shots from Brian Lorenz and Andrew Fritz as the visitors chased the opening tally. Dylan Ioffreda was stellar in the first half, stopping shots from Antonio Matos and JP Candela to keep things level at the intermission.

In the 54th minute, Dawson Joseph took a great through ball from an Ospreys teammate and recollected himself in the box, suddenly in great position for a strong shot that slid craftily across the box. Ioffreda made a diving save on the attempt, but the ball left the grasp of his fingertips and redirected into the waiting foot of Ernst Louisius, who collected the rebound and added his second goal of the season.

Aidan Lacy had a fantastic scoring chance in the 63rd minute, as his shot at the equalizer clanged off the crossbar. Thomas Vanni also put a shot on frame in the 74th minute of action, as Brady Bartletta was in position for the save to keep Haverford off the scoreboard.

Ioffreda took a tough-luck defeat in the midweek nightcap, with six saves between the pipes while Bartletta added three saves in his third shutout of the year.  Stockton tallied 16 shots in total, putting seven on frame, while the Fords notched three, including three on target.

The Fords now head out on the road in Centennial Conference play on Saturday, September 23 as men's soccer treks to Gettysburg for a 7 p.m. start against the Bullets under the lights.
