ST. LOUIS - Haverford College men's tennis first-year Marko Arboleda competed in the Round of 32 indoors at NCAA Singles Championships at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri, on Sunday morning. Action shifted to indoor courts due to the threat of severe weather in the area.

Kael Shalin Shah, the nation's 10th-ranked player and the top singles player for the Big Red of Denison University, prevailed over Arboleda in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, to move to the Round of 16. Shah later dispatched third-seeded Jordan Theron of Sewanee to advance to Monday's national quarterfinals.

For Arboleda, the season ends after a Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year campaign, marking the first NCAA singles qualifier from the Haverford program since the 2013 season.

The first-year from Chappaqua, N.Y., went 15-7 in his rookie singles campaign, including an 11-4 mark in dual-match action. Arboleda was 9-3 at the first flight and won six of his last nine singles matches in the dual match campaign.

As just a rookie in 2023-24, Arboleda will look to make a mark during his sophomore campaign as the Fords attempt to make a run for the NCAA Championships as a team, following a solid 2024 dual match campaign that saw Haverford advance to the Centennial Conference semifinals yet again.
