Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's tennis team, a squad currently receiving votes in the latest ITA poll, has been picked second in the annual preseason Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Poll, the league office announced Friday morning. Haverford received one first-place vote and 43 total voting points.

Haverford, ranked as high as No. 38 in the ITA rankings in 2024, posted a 5-2 Centennial Conference record,10-8 overall record, and reached the Centennial Conference Semifinal for an impressive 12th consecutive season. Head Coach Eric Spangler returns to the helm for his fourth season, hoping to make it back to the Centennial Conference Tournament for the 17th-straight season.

The Fords will be led by sophomore-returner Marko Arboleda, who had a memorable rookie season with the Fords. Overtaking the number one spot last season, the first-year went 15-6 in his rookie singles campaign, including an 11-4 mark in dual-match action. Arboleda was 9-3 at the first flight and won six of his last nine singles matches. Ranking 18th  in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South region, the rookie was selected to the NCAA Individual Championships in 2024, a feat that has not been accomplished by a Haverford men's tennis player since 2013.

The Garnet of Swarthmore topped the 2025 Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, capturing seven first-place votes and 49 total points. Not too far behind in second was Haverford, who collected the final first-place vote and 43 total voting points. Sliding into the third slot was Franklin & Marshall with 37 total voting points, followed by Gettysburg (29 points) and Washington College (27 points), who earned fourth and fifth respectively.

Ursinus was tabbed sixth with 17 total voting points, while Dickinson (seventh, 14 points) and Muhlenberg (eighth, eight points) rounded out the 2025 Centennial Conference Preseason Poll.

Following matches against No. 26 Mary Washington and Virginia Wesleyan to kick off the season on February 22, the Fords will host the highly-anticipated home-opener against No. 5 Denison on Saturday, March 1, at 4 p.m. inside Alumni Field House on the Haverford campus.
