Why did you choose Haverford?
One of the main reasons I chose Haverford was because of the experience I had during my prospective visit here. I remember coming to campus and going on a tour and hearing the tour guide talk about the Honor Code and the trust that the institution has in its student body. I thought that it was just something that the tour guides were told to say. But, later that day, when I was with some members of the softball team and other members of the Haverford community, they all told me about the Honor Code and its role in the daily life of all students. They told me about the trust between students and the trust that the institution had in its students. I realized that Haverford was a community that was truly built on Trust, Concern, and Respect, not just one that told its tour guides to say so.

What is your favorite team experience?
My favorite team experience is probably the first game I played my first year. I remember the overwhelming nervousness I felt before the game, unsure and a bit overwhelmed. But, being on the field with my teammates and cheering together in the dugout immediately calmed my nerves, and I felt at home right away. I don't remember if we won or lost that game, but it is definitely one of the highlights of my college experience.

Why did you choose to play a sport in college?
I chose to play a sport in college because I wanted to spend four more years doing the thing I loved most. Being on a team and playing this sport has always been incredibly important to me. Playing softball at Haverford has not only allowed me to keep playing, but it has given me some of my best friends and taught me to be a better player, leader, student, and friend.

What does being a student-athlete mean to you?
Being a student-athlete means finding a balance between academics and athletics. It is a responsibility to be present with all of my teammates and classmates. And most importantly, it is an opportunity to build lasting relationships, grow academically, and play the sport that I love.

What makes Haverford unique?
The student body! When you step on campus it is clear that students not only care for Haverford but for one another. The student body here is uniquely engaged in all aspects of what makes this place special. Come to Haverford for a visit and see for yourself!
